Of Wodka Relay Races and Derby Customs Officers

Last weekend was a blast!

Friday night I had organized an alternative tour (read; pub brawl) through Rotterdam, lovingly baptized "Naar de Kloteeeeee!" which would translate to "Gone to heeeeeell!" We had invited all Dutch leagues to join, but only Utrecht and Amsterdam made it. We've walked through all of Rotterdam, held a Wodka Relay Race, a game of Shotglass Walking and ended up in the Karaoke bar! We had a blast. It was so nice to see so many enthusiastic derby ladies come out to Rotterdam and party with us! I heard the sleepovers were a success as well!
 ;)

Party hats for everyone!
Rotterdam & Amsterdam united!
Gunshow Lolo does the 'model in the windmachine' pose
Ain't no party like a mosh party!
The Shotglass Race Winners!
Sing your heart out!

And after that exciting night, another one followed! Rotterdam Museum Nights had hired the Rotterdam Death Row Honeys to be 'Customs Officers With a Twist' on the busses that take people to the different musea, thus representing the Taxes and Customs Museum that, due to a renovation, could not receive their visitors at the museum. It was a huge succes, we were actually asked to do this again next year, AND it made the team some money to help rent a nice place or get new training gear!

Guerra Rico
Gunshow Lolo & Sandra Buttblock (always on skates)
Blauwe Bill
Bambi on Ice
The Lone Rider & Guerra Rico
The Lone Rider, Bambi on Ice and Gunshow Lolo accompanied by my friend Naïma

UnBEARable Lightness, Bambi on Ice and Alfredo had a huge fanbase
Yes, that is my finger. So?

And even though most of us didn't get home before 4 in the morning, we showed up at practice on sunday morning (at eleven!).

Skating Forward
Skating Backward
And feeling tired... ;)

But no time for rest of course, because as we speak I am working on the Fresh Meat Day we are organizing this coming saturday. We have gotten the amazing opportunity to use the middle of the exhibition floor from the Rotterdam Tattoo Convention. So after the training we'll be in the right place to party! If you happen to be in Rotterdam this saturday, do come and see us !

And after Fresh Meat Day half of the team will leave for Eindhoven to go to derby bootcamp (Yay!) organized  by The East Side Rock 'n Rollers  while the other half of us will be in the studio recording the chorus of the Rotterdam Death Row Honeys anthem! Suicidal Taxi has written a really cool song just for us! When it's done I'll post it here too!
Then monday a photo shoot with the team, as well as our written skills test, so I guess I will be dead and buried by tuesday. ;)

But who cares, I'll be on skates! ;)

Derby love!
